The Weather Outside is Frightful, but the New Library is Delightful
Ground broke on the site of the new East Moline Public Library in March 2021. Since the commencement of construction, the new East Moline Public Library has been through some changes. As the seasons changed, so did the building across the street from the current East Moline Library.
The East Moline Library closed to the public on January 15, 2022. The staff is working on moving and preparing the new library for occupancy. In the meantime, the library is still closed to the public as we move. Patrons are encouraged to return any library materials to surrounding Illinois libraries in the Quad Cities and to pick up any holds at any of those libraries as well.
Construction crews have been hard at work preparing the new building, located at 745 16th Ave, for the move.
Here are some exciting updates on the new East Moline Public Library:

As of January 15, 2022, the project is 89.2% complete.
A big thank you to HGA for design services, the Concord Group, Russell Construction, and all of our wonderful generous community members and donors who have made this project possible and continue to work so hard to see its completion.
