Something's Happening!

We are so excited to announce that we are going to begin construction on the new library shortly! You may have noticed driving by that there are some dumpsters and trucks in the parking lot - we are currently doing some site work in preparation for construction to begin. This is mainly asbestos abatement. We hope to finish up with that in a few weeks, and then we can begin the real construction! The library will be working with Russell Construction as the General Contractor, and we are thrilled to move forward with this local partnership.

We have had an amazing year of fundraising, including some incredibly generous gifts from our local philanthropic community:

$250,000 from the John Deere Foundation

$105,000 from the Moline Foundation

$100,000 from the Hubbell-Waterman Foundation

$100,000 from the Carver Trust

$32,000 from the Prasan Vimonluk Chariya Foundation

$15,000 from the East Moline Community Foundation

$15,000 from the MidAmerican Foundation

$10,000 from the Modern Woodman Foundation

And we are incredibly grateful to Mr. Louis Woodworth, who has generously given an additional $450,000 to the campaign fund, bringing his total contribution to $1.465 million dollars. The Library Board is pleased to announce that the library building will be named in Mr. Woodworth's honor.

All of this has left us with just $400,000 left to raise to be fully funded, and we would love for you to be a part of it! To give, please see our donate page or send a check to:
